FAQ

Where is Elite Aesthetics & Beauty based, and who will carry out my treatment?

Elite Aesthetics & Beauty is a professional aesthetics clinic based in Chilton, near Didcot in Oxfordshire, and all injectable treatments are carried out by a fully trained, insured aesthetics practitioner.

We specialise in natural-looking aesthetic results using evidence-based treatments, including anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers, skin boosters, microneedling and advanced skin treatments. Before any injectable treatment, you’ll have a full consultation to discuss your medical history, concerns, suitability and treatment options in detail.

What concerns can you help with?

We mainly help clients who want to soften lines and wrinkles, restore lost volume and improve overall skin quality.

Typical concerns we treat include:

  • Frown lines, forehead lines and crow’s feet

  • Nose-to-mouth (smile) lines

  • Tired, dull or dehydrated skin

  • Early loss of firmness and elasticity

  • Dark circles and fine lines under the eyes

  • Acne scarring and uneven skin texture

During your consultation we’ll look at your skin, discuss your goals, and recommend a personalised treatment plan. This may include injectables (where appropriate), skin boosters, microneedling, peels or a combination tailored to you.

What happens at my first consultation?

Your first consultation is a relaxed, no-obligation appointment where we listen to your concerns and examine your skin before suggesting any treatment.

A typical consultation includes:

  • A detailed chat about your concerns, lifestyle and treatment goals

  • A medical history and suitability check

  • A thorough facial/skin assessment

  • Discussion of treatment options (including where no treatment may be advised)

  • Time for you to ask questions about benefits, risks, downtime and aftercare

If you choose to go ahead and it’s appropriate to do so, some treatments can be carried out on the same day; others may be booked for a separate appointment so you have time to think things over.

Do you offer “Botox”? How do you advertise anti-wrinkle injections safely?

We offer anti-wrinkle injections via a prescription-only medicine, prescribed after a consultation with an appropriate prescriber. In the UK, botulinum toxin (often known by brand names such as “Botox®”) is a Prescription-Only Medicine (POM), which means it can’t be directly advertised to the public like a cosmetic product.

Instead, we promote consultations for concerns such as frown lines, forehead lines and crow’s feet. During your consultation, a prescriber will discuss whether an anti-wrinkle treatment is suitable for you, explain the risks and benefits, and answer any questions before issuing a prescription if appropriate.

Are your aesthetic treatments safe?

All medical aesthetic treatments carry some risk, but we work hard to minimise risks and keep you fully informed.

We do this by:

  • Taking a full medical history and checking medications

  • Assessing your skin and anatomy before any treatment

  • Using reputable, evidence-based products and safe techniques

  • Explaining potential side-effects and complications in plain language

  • Providing clear written aftercare and a follow-up plan

Most side-effects are mild and temporary (such as redness, swelling or bruising at injection sites), but we’ll always explain rare but serious risks before treatment, and you’ll have the chance to ask as many questions as you need.

What is the difference between anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers and skin boosters?

In simple terms, anti-wrinkle injections relax muscles, dermal fillers restore or add volume, and skin boosters improve skin quality.

  • Anti-wrinkle injections

    • Relax specific muscles that cause expression lines (frown, forehead, crow’s feet).

    • Soften dynamic lines and can give a fresher, more rested look.

  • Dermal fillers

    • Use hyaluronic acid gel to replace lost volume or contour areas such as lips or smile lines.

    • Can softly smooth folds and restore structure when used conservatively.

  • Skin boosters & Profhilo-type treatments

    • Hydrating, biostimulating injectables that improve skin texture, glow and elasticity.

    • Great for crepey, tired or dehydrated skin on the face, neck and other areas.(Medic Clinic)

At your consultation we’ll explain which combination is likely to suit your skin and goals best, and we’ll always aim for natural, age-appropriate results.

How long do results last?

How long results last depends on the treatment type, area treated and your individual metabolism, but as a general guide:

  • Anti-wrinkle injections: typically 3–4 months on average, sometimes longer or shorter from person to person.

  • Dermal fillers: usually 6–12 months, depending on the product, area and lifestyle.

  • Skin boosters / Profhilo-type treatments: often done as a course, with results visible for several months and maintained with top-ups.

  • Microneedling and peels: results build gradually over a series of sessions, as collagen and cell turnover improve.

We’ll always advise realistic timelines for your chosen treatment and discuss maintenance options if you’d like to keep results long term.

Will I still look like myself, or will I look “overdone”?

Our philosophy is “you, but fresher” – not a frozen or over-filled look.

  • We use conservative doses and gradual changes.

  • We look at your face as a whole, not just one line or fold.

  • We’ll tell you honestly if we think a treatment won’t suit you or could look unnatural.

Most clients say friends notice they look rested, brighter or “well”, rather than obviously “done”, which is exactly what we aim for.

What downtime should I expect after treatment?

Downtime varies by treatment, but most of our non-surgical procedures have minimal downtime.

You may experience:

  • Mild redness, swelling or small bumps at injection sites

  • Localised tenderness or bruising

  • Temporary tightness or dryness after peels or microneedling

These usually settle within a few hours to a few days, and we’ll give you clear, written aftercare instructions (for example, avoiding heavy exercise, heat exposure or certain skincare ingredients for a short period). If there are any higher-risk procedures, we’ll talk through likely downtime and what to watch out for before you book.

Do you offer Lemon Bottle fat-dissolving or other fat-dissolving injections?

There has been a lot of social media attention – and safety debate – around Lemon Bottle and other fat-dissolving injections in the UK, with regulators urging caution around unlicensed or poorly regulated products.

Any fat-dissolving or contouring treatments we offer will:

  • Only be carried out after a thorough medical consultation

  • Use products and protocols we are satisfied meet appropriate safety standards

  • Be fully discussed with you, including potential risks, side-effects and realistic outcomes

If a treatment is not in your best interests, or if safety guidance changes, we will always prioritise your wellbeing and may recommend alternative options or decline to treat.

Who is not suitable for injectable treatments?

Some people are not suitable for injectable aesthetic treatments, including those who are:

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding

  • Under 18

  • Allergic to any component of the product

  • Living with certain medical conditions or on specific medications

  • Unable to safely pause some over-the-counter products (e.g. certain blood-thinning supplements)

We’ll review your medical history in detail at consultation; in some cases we may recommend skin-only treatments (such as facials, peels or microneedling) instead, or advise against treatment entirely if it’s not safe or appropriate.

Can I combine treatments in one visit?

In many cases, yes – treatments like anti-wrinkle injections, fillers and skin boosters can be combined carefully in a treatment plan, either in one visit or staged over several appointments.

However, for safety and best results we may suggest:

  • Staging treatments in a logical sequence (for example, anti-wrinkle first, then assess whether additional filler is needed later).

  • Leaving time between procedures that affect the same area (e.g. injectables vs deeper peels).

  • Completing a course of one treatment (such as microneedling) before adding another.

Your practitioner will explain what can safely be combined in a single session and when it’s better to space treatments out.

How do you support me after treatment if I have questions or concerns?

After your treatment you’ll receive:

  • Written aftercare instructions tailored to your procedure

  • Information on what is normal in the hours and days after treatment

  • Guidance on when to contact us if something doesn’t feel right

We encourage you to get in touch if you:

  • Are worried about swelling, pain or bruising

  • Experience any symptoms that feel unusual to you

  • Have questions about how to care for your skin at home

We would always rather you contact us early so we can reassure you or bring you back for review if needed.

How do I book an appointment at Elite Aesthetics & Beauty?

The easiest way to book is online via our “Book Online” page, where you can choose your treatment, date and time. You can also contact us if you’re not sure which treatment to book – in that case we recommend booking a consultation so we can assess you properly before suggesting a plan.

If you have specific medical questions, previous complications, or are unsure whether a treatment is right for you, please mention this when you get in touch so we can make sure your appointment is booked with enough time to talk everything through.

Do you guarantee results?

No aesthetic treatment can offer guaranteed results, because every face, skin type and body responds differently. What we can guarantee is:

  • An honest, professional assessment of your concerns

  • Clear explanation of what is realistic for you

  • Evidence-based treatment options and safe practice

  • Support before, during and after your procedure

Our aim is always to achieve natural, confidence-boosting changes, not perfection – and we’ll only proceed with treatment if we believe it’s in your best interests.
